Hyundai put a lot of focus on safety when designing the 2019 model, both for the vehicle occupants and for others around. It is made of advanced high-strength steel, which offers super strength and rigidity to offer more protection in the event of a collision. The Santa Fe also offers numerous driver assistance technologies that actively scan the vehicle's surroundings for potential trouble, alert the driver, and even take action to avoid unexpected dangers on the road. With the 2019 model, Hyundai is also launching it's Safe Exit Assist technology, which ensures that doors cannot be opened when other vehicles are approaching. You'll also find some models equipped with Hyundai's Rear Occupant Alert, which warns drivers by sounding the horn or through a connected smartphone app of movement by a child or pet in the rear of the vehicle.
The New Santa Fe is bigger and bolder for 2019. It has a unique new look featuring a cascading grille, framed by a twin headlamp design, consisting of LED daytime running lights positioned above the available LED headlights. Nicely equipped, you'll find 19" alloy wheels, a smart power lift gate and roof rack side rails.
Conveniences and comforts are plentiful this year too. You'll stay toasty during the winter thanks to heated seats and a heated steering wheel, and cooler in the summer in it's ventilated front seats. The panoramic sunroof allows sunlight to stream throughout the cabin. In the rear, you'll find available heated seats, side-window sunshades, reclining seats, a sliding second-row, and flexible cargo space due to split folding seats and in-floor storage. You'll also enjoy touchscreen audio displays, proximity key with push-button ignition, a 12-speaker audio system and dual-zone automatic climate control.
The Santa Fe comes with a choice of two engines, a 185-hp, 2.4L GDI and a 235-hp, 2.0L turbo, each paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive is available. It also offers three drive modes, normal, eco and sport.
There are five trims to select from, the Essential, Preferred, Preferred Turbo, Luxury and the Ultimate. As one escalates, so does the level of equipment and amenities. The essential is nicely outfitted with FWD, 17" wheels, fog lights, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto integration, Bluetooth and a 7" display audio system. At the other end of the spectrum, the Ultimate packs in the turbo engine, AWD, 19" wheels, LED lights all around, heated rear seats, a surround-view monitor, premium audio, wireless charging and Hyundai's full suite of driver assistance systems. The Preferred, Preferred Turbo and the Luxury models all include various combinations of features, ensuring that there is a Santa Fe to suit almost anyone.
